Yes! Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball!
When I was a wee lass and my brothers and I had a Nintendo, we had many a game that we played. Not just your usual Mario Brothers or Duck Hunt, either. No, for some reason, my parents pretty much bought us whatever we wanted for the NES, even though we didn’t get too much of anything else. I guess maybe that’s what happens when your dad is a gaming nerd. You get GAMES for CHRISTMAS and that’s FINAL!
Well, there was one game that my brothers and I loved to played called Super Dodge Ball. If you’re unfamiliar with the game dodge ball, because your either from another country or you grew up in a cave instead of going to school, it’s where you take a ball and throw it at the opposing side, hoping that it hits them and they don’t catch it. If it hits them, they’re out and they have to sit out of the game until the next one starts up. Well, in Super Dodge Ball, the rules were a tad bit different. You threw the ball at the opposing team and if you hit them enough times, they died. We usually didn’t take it to that extreme in grade school… well, there was that one time, but I didn’t know Billy’s head still had a soft spot. Totally not my fault.
Super Dodge Ball was tons of fun and I remember getting the crap kicked out of me by those damn Communist teams. I now see why it was the Americans versus a bunch of commies… The wanted us to start hating the Communist countries young! But I digress… Super Dodge Ball really has very little to do with this post… it’s more of a nostalgia thing, because I saw this new Dodge Ball game coming out for the XBox 360 that looks freaking awesome.
The name of the game? Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball and if its in anyway close to being as fun as Super Dodge Ball was when I was a kid, this game is going to be freaking awesome. Why? Because there are PIRATES AND NINJAS! YES!

Dodge ball? Why? Children should only play football. God said so. Really.

If you’re talking about European football, I just might have to cry. That’s one of the most painful games out there. Even more painful than dodgeball.
Why? Because you get kicked in the shins a lot. NOT FUN. Even with shin guards…

Shin guards? Heresy! Proper football (and yes, I’m referring to the game that is actually played with the feet) should be played the Argentinian way. Ah, the beautiful game…

I just don’t get it! Maybe if I weren’t so… American… and maybe it’d be different if we were having this discussion at a different time of the year when the NFL Superbowl isn’t literally taking place like 12 miles away from me on Sunday. This town is going to be crazy!

Truth be said dear, it’s not only being American and having the Superbowl played next to you… It’s quite a gender-based problem you see. The vast majority of women don’t get the sport… A shame really… And one one that usually doesn’t allow us to actually enjoy the damn thing…
Oh, and I had quite few football games played near me, as my team’s (ageing) home stadium is a 15 minutes walk from my place. Great fun. The police don’t let anyone park, search for knives, people get knifed (well, not anymore) and the bloody city comes to a halt.
