Xii Games: A Developer’s Blog
Ahhhh… I love development of games… and what’s even better is to look inside the brain of a developer, which is pretty hard to do unless you’re a developer. So, that’s why I bring to your attention xii games and a new blog post that came out of the mind of xii game developer, Vince Twelve. He is working on a new name that he has called Resonance and in the first edition of his Developer Diary, he focuses on how to make a commercial adventure game with only self-funding, which I can only imagine would be very difficult.
I mean, first, Vince has to find all the people to help him create the game. He also has to deal with his employees working in different parts of the world. I mean, it’s hard enough when everyone works in the same building. His people live all over the place, from Japan, to England, to the US and even Latvia. I mean, cripe. And then he has to figure out how much to pay them… and he has a very limited budget in which to pay them with. And all of his budgeting has to go through the toughest person you can convince to spend money… his wife. Poor guy.
Vince is happily working away with his team, but hasn’t gotten any game play done yet, as he’s trying to get through the programming aspects of the game before he can put all the pieces together. He’s hoping to have some screenshots up by the next developer diary, so check back here often for updates!
