Wiiventures Part 2

When we last left off, my brother and I had made a crucial phone call to Circuit City to find out if they had any Nintendo Wii’s. They didn’t at the moment, but they would have some in the next morning. You know what that meant…
I woke up at 5:30 A.M. on a Sunday morning with hopes that we would be at least one of the first few people in line. The problem with having a brother who is only 19, however, is that he’s never seen 5:30 in the morning. We had planned on meeting at my house at 5:45 or so. I get up, take a shower and get dressed. By that time it’s about 5:42 and there’s still no brother. So, I wait. And I wait. And I wait. And then I wait.
Then I get testy and start calling my brother’s phone at 6:00 A.M.
He finally picks up the phone after I called him twice and left a voicemail. You know those voicemail ringers are almost as annoying as the regular phone, so I figured I should leave one, just to be safe. When he picks up the phone, I say with much disdain, “ARE YOU AWAKE, YOU BASTARD?!”
Of course he’s not.
“When are you going to leave?” I ask. I mean, it’s a valid question, seeing as he should at least have been awake already! He tells me that he just woke up and that he’ll be there soon.
“How soon, ” I ponder. He says he doesn’t know, because when you’re half asleep, time does not exist.
I tell him to hurry the hell up. DAY LIGHT IS BURNING HERE.
So, I continue to wait. And wait. And wait. I wait until 6:30. WHERE THE HELL IS HE?! I call him again. He says he’s just now leaving. The sad part is that when he finally got there at 6:40, HE HADN’T EVEN SHOWERED. Why was there a 30 minute delay?! WE’RE TRYING TO GET A WII CODY.
Anyways. We speed down the freeway at about 90 mph. What’s great about 6:45 on Sunday mornings is that no one is there driving on the freeway. What’s even more awesome is that we made it to the Circuit City about 15 miles from my house in about 10 minutes! Speed record!
We arrive at a store that looks much like this:

It’s like a City of Circuits
But in all reality, it was only 6:55 in the morning, during the winter time, so it was nice and dark and looked more like this:

It was so very very dark…
We get to the Circuit City parking lot and find that there is only one other car waiting in the parking lot. OH YES. We would be second in line. As the sun slowly arose, we waited in the warmth of my car, because damn… it was cold. I mean, seriously… It SNOWED on Sunday. AND I LIVE IN A DESERT. I’m not used to this! It hasn’t snowed here EVER. Well, at least not since I’ve lived here. So, that’s how cold it was.
At around 8 o’clock, two more cars showed up in the parking lot. We were starting to get a little edgy, because we didn’t want these noobs cutting in line before us, so we frantically jumped out of the car and ran to the front of the Circuit City. The guy that was there before us did the same, because there was no way we were cutting in front of him either!
It turns out, the two people who showed up was a manager of Circuit City and a janitor. We had now broken the seal and there was no way we could go back to our cars until we had a Wii in our hands. As it got closer to 8:30, more customers showed up to get into line behind us. The guy who was first told us that this Circuit City had an ad in Sunday morning’s paper that stated that yes, indeed, they would have Wii’s. We got more excited. WE KNEW IT’D BE OURS.
At 8:45, the weather took a turn for the worse and this is what the Circuit City looked like:

Yes, it started to rain on us. Oh, and there was a dragon.
Now, we were cold, we were wet and we just wanted to get back in my car and start crying. But we didn’t. We stuck it through. At about 9:15 A.M., a lovely Circuit City manager had come out with an umbrella (I think she was mocking us), and started handing out beautiful little pieces of paper on it with 3 marvelous words. Nintendo Wii Voucher.
We were now in heaven. The problem was that Circuit City didn’t open until 10 that fine day, so we left… had breakfast and came back to a gigantic line of people. We laughed at them, because we had our voucher.
Finally, the store opened, we went inside with a throng of people… some people who didn’t even have that lovely voucher… and we got our Wii.
Oh yes… The world is a marvelous place now.
Tomorrow I shall share some of my Wii insight.

This bring an interesting topic to talk about. How many words can you add “Wii” to? That’s the real question.
And there’s a ton. I’ve checked.

I aim to please, Ingy!
Carabur was resting comfortably on her couch and watching television. Sometimes being a gnomely mage is hard work and I need a break!
