When Speed Isn’t Fast Enough…
Several weeks ago, I posted an article on a Maniac Mansion speed-run that the speed-runner took a whole 9 minutes to rush through and beat Maniac Mansion. That is pretty amazing, if you ask me. What’s even more amazing is that there is a website out there called Adventure Speedruns that hosts several different videos of speed runs through many different adventure games. I wish I had that much time on my hands. Really.
Someone should speed-run through the new Sam and Max episodes… if the game only takes 2 hours to play normally, I wonder how long someone could rush through it. Hmmm… interesting… Very interesting. I think you should try it. Yeah, you… and then post the results for me to view. And then I will make you co-ruler of the world.
Alright, I’m just babbling. Anyways.
If you’re interested in watching the speed-runs, you have several to choose from. Here’s a list of what’s is on the site:
- Broken Sword 1
- CSI - Crime Scene Investigation
- Day of the Tentacle
- Discworld 1
- Discworld 2
- Full Throttle
- Indiana Jones 3
- Indiana Jones 4
- Loom
- Maniac Mansion
- Monkey Island 1
- Monkey Island 2
- Sam and Max
- Secret Files Tunguska
- The Dig
- Tony Tough 2
- Zak McKracken
Some of these speed-runs last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2.5 hours, but they are pretty entertaining to watch. It’s like playing a whole game and beating it without having to think. That’s my kind of game.

I wanted to say a big thank you for naming my site. It is great to find people who like my work. It’s an honour for me to share the videos and memories with all people. Enjoy my videos. I really hope you like it.
I have also reached Ron Gilbert with my Maniac Mansion Speedrun, that was just amazing. You can read the article on:

El-Nino,
It was my pleasure linking you! I love to watch you run through those games that I loved playing. They always take me forever to play, so it must’ve taken you a while to get the hang of going through them so fast!
Brilliant!

Yeah it took me some time to plan the routes, conversations and drafts(LOOM) but it was fun all the time. I loved every location in this old games. There have been so many memories coming up, awesome at all.
Thanks for the nice words, I hope I can share more of this memories in future. I try to get as many adventures as possible onto my site. Maybe it works, I hope so.
