Well, isn’t that fancy? Myst for the DS!

Yesterday, Adventure Gamers wrote up a post about that super famous adventure game that just about everyone has played, which we call Myst. I’ve heard lots of different news pieces about Myst, because let’s face it… it was a pretty awesome game. But this piece of news is particularly awesome, because publisher Empire Interactive is getting Myst developed for play on the Nintendo DS.

Do you smell that? Yes, my friends… that smell is nostalgia.

If you’d like to see a really horrible video that was made of someone playing Myst for the DS, why not take a look below. And please do not throw up on your screen if you get motion sickness really easily:

As you can see, it looks a whole heck of a lot like the Myst that you played on your PC many millinium ago. Except now it’s on a tiny hand held game console that has 10 times the processing power that your $1,500 machine 15 years ago had. Isn’t that weird how technology works?

Myst DS is said to ship to stores sometime in March.

And, yes, another Myst port. Not that I’m complaining, no, but I never really got into this and I’d rather have a nice Lucasarts classic ported to the DS.

Myst just wouldn’t be the same without the 20-second lag between screens and the pained sounds my old computer used to make when I tried to load a game. That being said I have a Myst poster on my wall right behind me. :)

Gnome - I couldn’t agree with you more. I’m not really sure what the big hype about Myst is, but a lot of people like it. I agree with the Lucasarts stuff, but there’s no way George Lucas could get his head out of his ass to see the potential!

Ivy - From what I DID play of Myst, the lag is definitely something that I miss, too. Actually I miss the lag you get from any of those old computer games. Ultima 7 had the best lag and now when I play it, I have to use a program to slow my computer down. Isn’t that sad?

PS Ivy: A Myst poster? Now that’s hard core adventure gaming fan if ever I did see one…
