Very Interesting Looking New DS Game - Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Professor Layton doesn’t really look much like a professor at all. He looks more like a magician that stumbled out of bed and half-hazardly put some clothes on.

I saw an update over at Adventure Gamers which talked about a new adventure game coming out for the Nintendo DS called Professor Layton and the Curious Village. This post talks about the story behind the game and I thought it sounded like it could have some potential. So, I checked out the website for the game and I have to say… it looks kind of cool.

In the game, you play a Professor Layton (surprising) who has a little side kick and a member of some dead Baron’s family asks you to find a family treasure for them. Whilst solving puzzles to get to the family treasure, however, there is some more death occurs. It sounds very confusing. There are a lot of dead people and there are a lot of puzzles.

Why don’t you just watch the trailer to see what the hell is going on, because I’ve probably confused the crap out of you:

It’s not really your classic adventure game, but it has some potential. Most adventure games coming out for the DS are heavily loaded with lots of puzzles like I think this game will be. If anything, it’ll cut down on your boredom and increase the power of your brain. Huge brains are a turn on, you know.

The game is due to be out February 10th, 2008. My word.

Hey, that looks fascinating. I wish they showed a bit more of the gameplay though. All I saw (other than the animated bits) are some puzzles. Anything else?

I haven’t seen any other trailers yet. There are probably a bunch in Japanese, but I don’t know many people who frequent this site and that speak Japanese… hehe

I liked the game, though I didn’t realize that I was already reaching the end of the adventure. I was too busy solving the interesting puzzles.
