Top 10 Graphic Adventure Games from PC to Console

There is an awesome article coming from the wonderful website Adventure Classic Gaming. This article is so great, because it gives a top 10 of the best Graphic Adventure Games from PC to console.
The author, a Mr. Tom Lenting, gives a general run down of what his favorite classic adventure games are and why he thinks they are the best. For the most part, I’d have to agree with Tom. Some of the games on his list have helped to make adventure gaming what it is today.
On his list, he includes the following ten games:
- Myst
- Beneath a Steel Sky
- King’s Quest: Quest for the Crown
- Rise of the Dragon
- King’s Quest V: Absence Makes The Heart Go Yonder!
- Flashback: The Quest for Identity
- Discworld
- Broken Sword: The Shadows of the Templars
- Maniac Mansion
- The Secret of Monkey Island
The only one on this list I haven’t heard of is Beneath a Steel Sky, but then again I haven’t heard of a lot of games. I’m quite sheltered here in my humble abode. I do agree with the number one game, though. You can’t get much better than The Secret of Monkey Island. I think that game embodies what the perfect adventure game is: funny, witty, great characters, very lovely locations and just plain… greatness.
Anyways… I love this article… take a look!

Oh yah! The Secret of Monkey Island was one of the best games ever, IMHO. That and Zork Grank Inquisitor got me hooked on Adventure gaming. :-)

Beneath a Steel Sky is brilliant, and what’s more Revolution (who also made Lure of the Temptress and the Broken Sword games) made it freeware! It works with ScummVM. You can download it here http://www.revolution.co.uk/. Your weblog is a great read, BTW. :D
