Three Interviews For the Price of One
My, oh, my has the The International House of Mojo been busy of late. In the past day, they have posted not one… not two… but three separate interviews with those fine people over at TellTale Games… Or maybe I should say that it’s the people over at TellTale games who are the busy ones? Hmmm…
This first interview is brought to us by 4 Color Rebellion, which is a semi-strange name for a website, but all the more power to ya. In this interview, Dave Grossman is being interviewed, and I think he’s slowly losing his mind. He can’t confirm, nor can he deny a second season of Sam and Max, but we definitely know there will be a first season.
Just read about one of Dave and company’s many adventures:
Game development is usually pretty dry, but it has its moments of adventure. One night Steve, Brendan, Dan and I went to a taco shop after work to talk about the next episode – I can’t even remember which episode it was any more. There was a belligerent drunk guy there who started talking really loud, like he wanted the whole restaurant to hear him. We attempted to ignore him until we realized he was actually talking to US. He seemed quite angry, but we couldn’t chisel our way through his limited English to find out what he actually wanted. We gave him beer (possibly unwise in retrospect) and he allowed us to escape with our lives. I’m actually kind of surprised he hasn’t turned up as a character in a game yet.
The second interview is really more of a Q&A that 1up did with Dave Grossman. I think Dave may be the busiest guy ever. 1up asks Dave all sorts of questions about his thoughts on season 1, how it either went smooth… or not so smooth.
Here’s an example of things not going so smooth for the gang at TellTale:
Did I ever tell you about the time one of the voice actors had a medical emergency and had to drop out at the last minute and we didn’t have a backup? Or the month that more or less everybody in the office came down with the flu? Or the time the wrecking ball came crashing through the wall during a playtest session? OK, that last one didn’t happen, but I was expecting it after the others.
So much drama….
And the last interview is a video at a comic convention with Steve Purcell, Dave Grossman and Emily Morganti. The International House of Mojo also points out that Dave Grossman doesn’t blink. And they’re right. And it’s creepy. I also think he has about 2 pounds of caffeine running through his veins.
There is also a guest appearance by Tim Schafer and Scott Campbell. So, you get to watch this interview from the comfort of your own home:
