Possible UK Classic LucasArts Game Launch

According to a post on The International House of Mojo, there was a post made on the Adventure Gamers forums that eluded to a UK release of a bunch of classic LucasArts adventure games.
There hasn’t been an official announcement from LucasArts, probably because they’re a bunch of stink faces… but if you do a search on Amazon’s UK site for “Lucas Classic Line”, you’ll get a bunch of older LucasArt’s games.
These games include such greats as:
- Sam and Max Hit The Road
- The Dig
- Day of the Tentacle
- Curse of Monkey Island
- Grim Fandango
- Escape from Monkey Island (this is considered a classic now?)
- Full Throttle
- And a bunch of stupid Star Wars Games.
Now, for some reason, most of these games say such things as Windows 98/ME/NT compatible, but seeing as all of their release dates are either for 2006 or 2007, there’s got to be some type of installer for Windows XP, and a possible one for Windows Vista. That’s just speculation on my part though. For all I know, you’ll have to have DOS on your computer to run these games and then the world will suck a lot.
These classic games aren’t all that cheap, either. Most of them run around £16.99, which while it’s not an arm and a leg… these games are old. I remember them being offered on the LucasArts site many years ago for like $15.99, so… NICE JOB LUCASARTS FOR RIPPING PEOPLE OFF.
Jerks.
Anyways, if you live in the UK, go buy some good ol’ classics. Some of them you can order today and then there are some that you have to pre-order with a release date of January 17th. Just in time for Christmas. Hah, I made a funny.
Just make sure you stay away from that Star Wars crap, because how else with LucasArts learn?
