Play Infocom text games on the internet!

I’m sure many of you, like myself, grew up playing those old text-based adventure games where you had to use nothing more than your imagination and stick figures to figure out what the HELL was going on in the game. I mean, for a long time, there wasn’t any images or animations to go with a game! Just words that were then turned into descriptions! And often time the descriptions were ignored and you fell into a pit of lava with deadly snakes in it! I bet you know what I’m talking about.

And I bet you’re thinking, “Man, those were the days. Why don’t we just do away with games and go back to those simpler times?”

Because, most people hate to read. But you don’t! So, that’s why I’m going to point you to a website based on old Infocom text-based games. Why Infocom? OH, only because they were THE MASTERS of text-based games back in their day. THE FREAKING MASTERS.

I mean, just look at the list of games they put out:

  • Zork I: The Great Underground Empire
  • Zork II: The Wizard of Frobozz
  • Zork III: The Dungeon Master
  • Zork: The Undiscovered Underground
  • Enchanter
  • Seastalker
  • Sorcerer
  • Spellbreaker
  • Wishbringer
  • Starcross
  • Suspended
  • Planetfall
  • The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
  • Stationfall
  • Deadline
  • The Witness
  • Leather Goddesses of Phobos
  • The Lurking Horror

Oh, so I have your interest do I? Well, check this site out and you will see all the coolness in which I speak.

[Special thanks go out to Lively Ivy for pointing out this awesome little gems of the internet!]
