Pirates of the Burning Sea Shuts Down Servers

Well, now this is some sad, sad news. That new MMO, Pirates of the Burning World that has recently spread through out the world… well, actually didn’t spread much at all. Surprisingly, there aren’t that many people out there that want to be pirates, which is super weird, because… who doesn’t want to be a pirate?

Yes, according to this post over at Kotaku, 7 out of the 11 Pirates of the Burning World servers have shut down, because there aren’t enough people playing!

I wonder if Flying Lab Software, the publisher of the game actually thought they would able to steal people from all of those other MMOs that are out there (World of Warcraft, I’m looking at you). Do you know how hard it is to leave my level 52 Shaman? Do you?! I just can’t do it.

Let’s hope someone is brave enough, or the entire game just might go down the virtual world drain.

This game would have trouble making me leave my level 20 Gadgeteer in the CBT of Mythos! =)

Some of its servers are down? I didn’t even know that the game was live in the first place. :P

Things would surely be different if this were a Ninja game.

    “Ninjas of the Burning World”

    Fricking awesome. Pirates? Meh.

Ninjas of the Burning World would be a horrible title for an MMO.

How about Ninjas for the Smoke Screen World?

Now that just sounds stupid. Ninjas suck.

The game is very static, linear and repetitive, you to do a bunch of timeconsuming boring npcrelated missions, After two weeks I came to the following conclution: Playing POTBS is like playing a singleplayer game with a bunch of other people

The game gave me the impression that this was intended to be a singleplayer game, but at some late point in developement they decided to implemented (a very basic) multiplayer support.

I played it for a month, and believe me, I love pirates and everything related to them!

This is just another badly made game going down the drain, it might have survived as a singleplayer game, but as a MMO game it fails miserably, thus not worth shedding tears.

If pirates are so “cool” and Ninjas suck so bad, then why are the MMO’s servers closing down and Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword is selling like hot pancakes?

Because the Ninjas threatened people with assassinations if we didn’t all buy their stupid Ninja game.

    That’s why.

    Kiven,

According to SlimG, this game would have trouble getting people to stop playing puzzle games on their phones.

That’s how bad this game sounds.

    Even though Pirates are awesome.

Pirates are awesome indeed, I’m already carrying my visa in a easy-access pocket to quickly be able to pay for East India Company when it’s released, that game looks amazing (So did POTBS, but this time!…)
