Chrono Trigger - Trailer

Lots of Chrono Trigger goodies have made their way out onto the internet recently. It probably has something to do with its master re-release this fall on the Nintendo DS. A couple days ago, I posted about the Japanese Chrono Trigger trailer. Well, because English speaking people are super awesome, the ENGLISH trailer has been released.

If you didn’t watch the last trailer because you are afraid of the Japanese language, check it out in English:

TellTale Games has finally thrown together a Wii page for our favorite dog and bunny couple, Sam and Max. And right there, on the front page, we’re told that the episodic comedy game is coming to us sometime this fall.

The Wii disc will have also have over 3 hours of jazz music that you can groove to, which is cool. Because who doesn’t want to groove to some awesome jazz music while playing their Wii?

Here are some of the other features you will find on the Wii version of Sam and Max:

  • Six award-winning episodes linked by an overarching mystery
  • Dozens of locations filled with off-kilter characters
  • High-quality writing with thousands of lines of funny dialogue

Erin “The Ivy” Robinson interviewed!

70.png

Tim W. over at Indy Games was awesome enough to be able to interview Spooks and Nanobots mastermind and creator extraordinaire, Erin “The Ivy” Robinson! Interviews are fun, aren’t they?!

In this interview, we get to learn that Erin has an alter ego (and I don’t mean a video game developer. I mean she’s into neuroscience. WEIRD!), how she won an award for Aspiring Women Game Artists Competition (and what she won), how she started creating adventure games, the Spooks sequel Skyward and that she’s working on another game. That she can’t talk about. Because she’s like a super agent spy lady. Thingie.

Man, this interview has it all! Interested? GOOD. Here’s the interview in its entirety.

Monkey Island Theme Song

This video is pretty bad assed. There’s a hippy. And he has a guitar. The guitar has Guybrush Threepwood painted on it. And then he PLAYS the Monkey Island 3 theme song.

Come on. There is nothing COOLER than a Guybrush Threepwood guitar. Am I right? I am!

Check out the video:

And if that isn’t enough Monkey Island 3 theme song music, THIS guy here plays the intro to the song on a mandolin.

Now that’s super nerdy!

Oh, and I’m not even done! Here’s someone playing the song on an accordian! Warning: not for the faint of heart.

I could keep on going, but I’m afraid you would all kill me.

[thanks to this post at the international house of mojo for pointing me in the direction of the first video: hippy plays Monkey Island 3 theme.]

Chrono Trigger - Re-Released on Nintendo DS

Last week sometime, I heard that the super awesome RPG which was first available on the Super Nintendo, Chrono Trigger, is going to be re-released for the Nintendo DS. The “re-mastered” version for the DS will be a little different than the one you may have play on the Super Nintendo - what with all the stylus controls being added. Oh, and there will be a new dungeon for us to play in!

And there’s even a trailer! The only problem with this trailer, though, is that all the writing is in Japanese! But fortunately, there is no speaking in Japanese and basically just lots of video of game play! Sweet!

Oh, there will be a lot of happy RPG nerds out in the world, won’t there? What’s even better is that the North American version of the game should be out just in time for Christmas! YES!

Insecticide for the PC on Steam!

insecticide_pc_cover_part_1.jpg

So, you’ve been waiting awhile to play Insecticide, haven’t you? Well, it’s a good thing you can now! Yep! That’s right! You can now purchase Part I of Insecticide over at one of my favorite game download places, Steam for a mere fee of $14.99.

You can’t get much cheaper than that. Unless, of course, you don’t PLAY video games. Then you CAN get away for not playing any games for absolutely free. But life isn’t any fun if you don’t play games! Well, maybe not “any fun”, but games certainly make life more exciting!

For a direct link to puchase Insecticide, just click here.

Ron Gilbert gets Interviewed

rongilbert.jpg

The lovely Chris Remo over at Gamasutra has interviewed one of the most awesome adventure game developers of our time - the Grumpy Gamer himself - Ron Gilbert. In the interview, Chris and Ron descuss Ron’s newest game he’s developing over at HotHead Games, Death Spank!

We also learn what Ron has been doing for the past few years, how it’s going over at HotHead Games, his thoughts on episodic gaming and where the gaming industry is headed within the next few years.

And it sounds like it’s headed to Hollywood. WHY?! WHYYYYYY?!

Anyways, go read the interview.

Diablo 3 Gameplay Footage

Not to be outdone by the trailer, the Diablo 3 game play footage offers a more in depth behind the scenes look at two of the different class types that Diablo 3 will offer: the witch doctor and the barbarian.

I have to say that the barbarian is super HAWT. I mean, he’s got the COOLEST moves ever, like a whirlwind attack thingie and umm… some shock thing! And the witch doctor has a spell that raises zombies from the dead to form an attack wall to obliterate your opponents! I’m pretty sure that’s the COOLEST spell ever thought of!

And let’s not forget to mention the graphics. THE GRAPHICS ARE SO FREAKING AWESOME. I’m pretty sure I’ll be out buying a new computer before this lovely game comes out.

If you want to see all the kick ass stuff I’ve mention here, check out the game play footage:

Want to see something cool?! Diablo 3 Trailer

Okay, who HASN’T been waiting FOREVER for Blizzard’s next game in the Diablo series. Oh, you didn’t KNOW there was going to be another game, did you? But how could you know? Diablo II has been circulating the world since 2000, so I thought for SURE there wouldn’t be another one. Well, I was wrong!

Over the weekend, there was an International Blizzard conference that went down in the lovely city of Paris, France and Blizzard spilled their guts about all sorts of things. Including what the haps on Diablo III was.

Let’s have the trailer speak for itself, shall we?

This is going to be freaking amazing.

Princess Bride - the Game!

I’ve seen news about The Princess Bride Game circulating around the internet for about a week now, so I figured it’s about time to tell you all about it! If you like the book or movie, The Princess Bride, then chances are you’ll even like the game. From the trailers I’ve seen, the game loosely follows the story of Westley and Buttercup in their quest to find true love.

The game itself looks like your basic adventure game, with stuff to pick up and use… but there’s also levels that look like your basic platformer. And then some more parts of the game that you makes it look like you answer some trivia questions. All in all, a game that combines a bunch of different genres into one.

Here’s a trailer for those of you who believe in that sort of thing:

I don’t know if I’ll be playing this game, but it does look cute at the very least!
