New Game - Ankh

There’s this pretty cool new game out there called Ankh, created by the crazy German company BHV Software (well, I’m not really sure if they’re crazy or not. I haven’t ever met the lovely people at BHV Software, but I tend to think most people are crazy. Including myself). Now, the game looks pretty dang cool. It’s got some pretty nice graphics and what sounds like a decent storyline. Check it out:
Egypt. Many, many years ago. Young Assil has a problem: he parties too much, and in restult, a curse has been cast on him. Althought, Assil actually just wanted to have an enjoyable evening with his friends - he managed to enter a new pyramid, threw a humoungous party and has now promptly fallen from grace with the gods. The consequence: a curse has been cast on him and now he must find out how to break it.
I should say Assil has a problem: look at his name. It starts with “ass” and I don’t know about you, but that’s a recipe for disaster (or disasster… HAH. I crack myself up). The rest of the stuff sounds pretty cool, though. There’s… Egyptians… and umm…. some Gods and a curse. Curses are always PRIME adventure gaming material. And then there’s some Ass….Assil.
Ahhh, the adventure gaming gods smile upon us. I bask in the glory.
There’s EVEN a DEMO. Check it out: Demoy goodness.
If you have a problem with the voices being in German, here’s a tip from Adventure Gamers:
Assuming you can “Weiter” and “Fertig stellen” your way through the initial German installation, the language can be configured to English by changing the “Ankh.ini” file (in the Media folder). Simply change the setting from “language=1″ to “language=0″, and you’ll be off to ancient Egypt with full English voices and subtitles.
Awesomeness.
