It’s Fable 2 Month!

Today is October 1st and do you know what October brings? Well, other than that wonderfully fun “holiday” we call Halloween? But besides that? Well, October THIS year brings us the game I have been anticipating for well over a year: Microsoft Games and Lionhead Studios massive new RPG and sequel Fable II.

Now, the first Fable was a blast. If you’ve never played Fable, it’s a game where you basically play a character from childhood to death - where the actions you make today will change the way you behave and how others react to you when you’re older. Now, if you decide to be a good guy, as you grow older you literally start glowing and a little halo appears above your head. You look a little like a video game God and people in the game will treat you like a video game God. If you decide to take the evil route (which we all know is WAY more fun), you end up looking more like the Devil. And people run and cower in your presence.

Either way, both routes you take will get the game’s main job, revenging the death of your parents, done. So, really the choice is up to you as to whether you want to be a bad boy or a good boy.

Now, Fable II is suppose to take all the coolness of Fable and make it about a million times better. In Fable II, you’ll get to customize your own character (which includes choosing your gender) . They’ve added a side kick, a dog, which will help you combat your way through the Fable world. This dog is pretty smart and is your map and guide throughout the game. Fable II will still maintain the good/evil alignment that changes your characters looks and such, but there has also been a “Kind and Cruel” and “Rich and Poor” alignments added to your character to give ya little somethin’ somethin’ extra. Another cool feature of Fable II is that if you’re rich enough, ANYTHING can be bought. Every single building in the game can be bought with your cold hard cash, just like in the real world! Oh and let’s not forget that the game is going to feature a multiplayer mode so that you may vanquish your foes with your friends that live thousands of miles away.

In the game, you start as a street rat, with nothing more than the clothes on your back and living in a sewer and you know your destiny is to become a hero. And that’s where the player comes in. You take your street rat and do whatever you can to earn the glory of ALL THINGS AWESOME.

So, are you getting as excited as I am? Good, because the game will hit the world on October 21st and I’m sure there will plenty more updates on this site about the game until then. Cannot wait!
