So, are you sitting on your butt all bored and stuff, because the gaming industry hasn’t put out a new adventure game in years? I know I am, but there IS hope. There are a lot of indie gaming companies out there who are at this very moment making adventure games. I know. I’ve played them and while they may not be as long winded and beautiful as those games that are thrown out on shelves at your local Best Buy, they’re still pretty ding dang creative. These people usually don’t make any money on what they’ve developed, yet still, for the most part, have great story lines, decent graphics and even better music. A great resource to look for these games is over at Adventure Game Studios. Adventure Game Studios is a sweet little program that adventure gamers like to use to create their own point and click games. Then those people post their evil creations up over on Adventure Game Studios website, where the games are sorted by game length and are even rated for your gaming pleasure. It’s a great site to check out, so do it.
What’s even better is that there ARE publishers out there, like TellTale Games, who are doing stuff like digital distribution of their games and the prices are pretty reasonable. So, if you’re not sold on amateurs making your games, take a look at TellTale Games. I heard they have a few people on their team from Lucas Arts that are pros at making these adventure games and pros are always fun.
