Dan Connors Defends Episodic Gaming

In an article written by the worldly gaming magazine Gamasutra, Dan Connors of TellTale Games fame gets up on his soap box to defend episodic gaming. Recently, Epic Games Vice President Mark Rein has been quoted saying that episodic gaming is a “broken business”. I happen to think that somebody is jealous, but Dan Connors defends it much more eloquently than I ever could. Probably because he’s smart. And cool. And probably way prettier than me.

Here’s what our man, Dan Connors, has to say about episodic gaming in the Gamasutra article:

First I’d say that the business is just getting started, so it’s a little early in the process to declare it as “broken.” From what we’ve seen so far, the opportunities that we have to make revenue across multiple ways of releasing the product and delivering the product shows to us that there is profit to be made there, and there’s great content to be made there as well. The key for us is to build products that take advantage of the fact that we’re doing it episodically and build a product that people can enjoy because it’s episodic. That’s our big goal for this year.

Touché, Mr. Connors. Touché.

And there’s plenty more where that came from, boys and girls. You can read the article here, OR you can go the fancy route and listen to a podcast here.
