The Adventuress

I don’t remember where I heard this from, but low-and-behold, it’s true! I read in a forum somewhere that Gametap, those wacky people that let you pay a subscription that allows you to play close to 500 different games, have some pretty awesome old time adventure games of yore. I’m talking about the old Sierra styled. Here are just a few titles of what they’ve got:

  • The Adventures of Willie Beamish
  • King’s Quest® I: Quest for the Crown™
  • Police Quest: SWAT® 2
  • King’s Quest® II: Romancing the Throne™
  • Quest for Glory®: So You Want To Be A Hero
  • Riven®: The Sequel to Myst®
  • Space Quest™ I: Roger Wilco in the Sarien Encounter

The list goes on and on, my friends. So, if you’re a big fan of adventure games, especially the old ones, but can’t seem to find them ANYWHERE (or they’re like $150 on e-Bay… what the hell?), you might want to subscribe for a couple months and play them ALL!

You’ll be like a king! Well, minus the gold and the jewels… Okay. You’ll FEEL like a king!

Or a queen. A queen in my case.

Gametap is a mere $9.95 a month, with the first 2 weeks free. Sounds like a deal to me. I have a feeling you poor fools will have to see me write about some of these games on Tuesday Treasure Trove. Poor guys… ;)

Awwww… poor Gnome. You should write them a strongly worded letter!

Sorry about that Gnome. Maybe it’ll be available overseas soon since it’s gaining popularity here in the States.

I’ve been interested in GameTap for a good while but a lot retro games I like to play are coming out in collections (Capcom Classics Collection and Midway Arcade Treasures.) but I wouldn’t mind trying one of those adventure games through.

Thanks for the sympathy my friends… Now I guess I’ll stop crying and start pleading for GameTap in Europe.
