Oh, now here’s some news about a game we haven’t heard about in quite sometime. Jason over at the The International House of Mojo posted this news item about PSX Extreme doing a preview on Double Fine’s new action/adventure game Brütal Legend.

Holy crap, that was a lot of links, wasn’t it? Now, I’ll give you time to go click them all, because that’s the type of entertainment I’m willing to provide, free of charge.

Now, we haven’t heard much news at all about this game, except for an office visit to Double Fine that some find folks at IGN did, so I’m thinking any news is something we should bring up here on this good ol’ blog.

Here’s an interesting piece of news found at the PSX Extreme article about Eddie Rigg’s fighting style:

The battle axe is Eddie’s primary attack, and it works much like Devil May Cry’s sword attack does - basic, yet effective. Riggs will shred on the guitar when he needs to cast various types of magic, and performing these magic attacks will require timed combo entry on your controller.

Interesting… and different. I mean, I like when my metal dude can totally kick ass on some axes. And using a guitar axe as a magical conjuring item? Pretty freaking sweet. And according to the article, there will be a magic move that actually melts the face off of your enemy. Umm, okay. Awesome.

Sounds like the game is going to be pretty fun to play…
