Best DS Game of the Year!

by Amber on December 27th, 2007

I love when I can watch a video and it has something to do with adventure games. Why? Because it’s easy for me to show proof that adventure games are super awesome. That’s why I’ll show you this video, about Game Trailers Top DS Games of 2007. And the nominees are:

  • Contra 4 - Okay, these games should’ve never made it past the very first one of the Nintendo… yes, the original Nintendo. Apparently, though, they thought it’d be good as a DS game. I haven’t played it yet, but it doesn’t look any more exciting than the first one did back in the 80s.
  • Hotel Dusk: Room 215 - I haven’t played this game yet, but I have it sitting on my desk, waiting for me to play it. And it’s an adventure game, too, which is AWESOME. We love adventure games here!
  • Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - Now, I HAVE played this game, and it’s super duper fun. If you haven’t played it yet and you have a DS, you must check it out. It’s fun stuff!
  • Pokemon Diamond and Pearl - BORING. I played a little bit of Pokemon Diamond and it wasn’t all that great. Shouldn’t have been on this list, that’s for sure.
  • Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlord - I have not played this game yet, but my dad has and he says it’s rather addictive. I’ll be borrowing it from him soon. It looks pretty awesome.

And the winner is? Well, I’m not going to tell you. You’ll have to watch the full three minute video yourself, just like I had to. Aren’t I mean?!

Okay, it’s Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass! Did I spoil it? Haha!

I downloaded the demo of Puzzle Quest for the PC so I could decide whether I wanted to buy the DS version for my kids. If you are the type to say “just one more round” when you play Bejeweled, they you will probably get hooked on this game.

Zelda? No way. I was initially stoked for Phantom Hourglass, but those repetitive dungeons ruined it for me. By far, Zelda is still a good game, but not THE best DS game for 2007.

My vote would go to Hotel Dusk, which is absolutely AWESOME.

Hotel Dusk, you say? I’ve just gotten that, but my DS has been stolen by my roommate who can use it far more than I can. Oh, I’ll steal it back over the weekend. YES!

How’s your PS3 goin’?! I love LOVE LOVEEEEEE my XBox.

The PS3 is teh awesome. I’m sure you’d drool over Assassin’s Creed like I do. Now if I could just get some more games…

I have Assassin’s Creed! I got a late Christmas gift card and there was a sale on it at the place I bought it from. SOOOO AWESOME.

Now if I could only pull myself away from Oblivion to play it. Wouldn’t it be great to clone yourself so you could play a bunch of games at once?!

Dani in NC - I heard it’s a lot like crack. Once you start, you can’t stop. My brother even played it while he had the flu, which he admits was a bad idea. Now he associates Jewel Quest with throwing up and that’s never good.

RebeccaJ - I guess this is the time where I say “Different strokes for different folks”? Maybe I should’ve given it more of a chance, but there are too many games out there to play!
