It takes a real smart ass to write an essay about Day of the Tentacle and I think I have found that smart ass on The International House of Mojo. A Mr. Daniel Wishart has decided to do a historical analysis on that all time LucasArts classic, Day of the Tentacle, and promptly goes into depth about the different historical aspects of the game.
He goes on to talk about Ben Franklin’s character in the game and how much of a big fat pansy he was, which, according to history is totally untrue. In DOTT, Ben didn’t want to go out in a rainstorm to attempt his electricity experiment. Well, that’s why we have Hoagie wash that old wagon. Sudden rainstorms ALWAYS happen after washing your vehicle and I don’t really think that Ben was ready for it.
That’s comedy genius right there. If only history really worked like that. Or maybe they did. They just didn’t ever talk about the fat stoner guy who made it rain. Who would? That would be a disgrace to the United States!
It’s all a cover up! Just like Watergate! The nerve of historians!
Plus, any one who can add John Hancock’s line from DOTT “A friend once told me that women go crazy over guys with a
big signature”, is totally awesome in my book. How cool is that?
I liked this paper so much that I had it converted from a Word document (who would post a word document on the internets? Not everyone has word!) and made it a PDF… because then THE ENTIRE WORLD can see it. So, read it.
Or the Adventuress may become irrationally angry.
