Adventure Gaming Coming Back to the US?

Well, we can only hope that adventure gaming is coming back to the US. It shouldn’t have ever left, damnit. I mean, what other games are suppose to entertain someone with a short gaming attention span like I do? I love to play RPGs, but get tired of them too quickly. I like MMORPGs, but they get boring after about 2 weeks of playing. I need a game that’s simple and to the point, with lots of puzzles and mind teasers, but not so hard that I get bored trying to figure it out. That’s why adventure games are so awesome.

So, that is why I am happy to hear that the American publishing company Lighthouse Interactive and the German publishing company dtp entertainment AG have teamed up and decided to pick up three different titles, according to this article over at Adventure Gamers. The three games we can expect to see hit the US are Undercover: Operation Wintersun by Sproing Interactive, Overclocked by ANACONDA Games and Belief and Betrayal by Artematica. Undercover: Operation Wintersun and Belief and Betrayal will both be out sometime in the Summer of 2007 and Overclocked is said to be out sometime early 2008.

If you would like to read more about Lighthouse’s role in bringing back adventure gaming to the US, you can read the press release here. Hopefully these two publishers will like each other and decide to put out even more games. Holy sweet monkeys!
