Adventure Gamers - Everlight Preview
Well, well… Adventure Gamers got to preview a brand spanking new game called Everlight, which is being produced by Simon the Sorcerer 4: Chaos Happens developer, Silver Style Entertainment. It sounds like the game has a bit of potential… I mean, hey… it’s an adventure game isn’t it? It has to have a lot of potential!
The only problem I’ve found with this game so far is it’s lack of an English website! How am I suppose to get what the story is about and post it on this here website without one? I’ll tell you how! Well… Umm, I can’t. That’s how. How about the summary of the game in German? Here we go:
Melvin betritt einen eigenartigen Kerzenladen und wird von dem wundersamen Besitzer Mr. Teeth auf eine magische Reise geschickt, auf der er seine Ängste besiegen und Magie erlernen soll.
Ein Fingerschnippen später findet sich Melvin in einer mittelalterlichen Stadt wieder. Als erstes befreit er aus einem Käfig die Elfe Fenny, die ihn fortan als spirituelle Führerin begleitet. Eigentlich soll sie seine Suche mit Rat und Tat unterstützen, treibt ihn aber die meiste Zeit mit spitzen Bemerkungen in den Wahnsinn.
Now, I have no idea what this says at all. I mean, none. So, if this doesn’t sound like it makes sense to you and I got a piece of the story that really features nothing about the story, well then… I’m sorry. Please forgive me.
According to Adventure Gamers preview, though, in the game, you play a guy named Melvin and the story begins in a candle shop. In the candle shop you meet a salesperson who finds out that Melvin is obviously “special” and realizes Melvin should participate in an adventure game! So, the saleman talks Melvin into going to a land called Tallen and in this place, there is some obvious problems. Let’s take a look at what Adventure Gamers says about it:
As he begins to explore the town, Melvin discovers that Tallen has been cursed. Each inhabitant’s personality turns into its polar opposite during the night, only to revert back to normal in the morning without the affected individuals noticing the change. After sunset, for example, the chronically bankrupt and thrifty blacksmith spends his last pennies for beer and gambling, the otherwise overly correct members of the city council play pranks on their fellow citizens, and the spinster Daphne turns into a nymphomaniac with handcuffs tied to her bed, forcing a leather harness onto her fluffy teddy.
Sounds like a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde syndrome to me… And for those of you who hate to read, here’s a trailer for the game. Just a quick note though - it’s in German! Man, I’m always throwing the low blows around here aren’t I:
The game definitely sounds different and I’d definitely be interested in giving the game a try. Can’t wait to hear more about it and hopefully this time it’ll be in English. I love English!
