Adventure Con Causes Confusion? NO!
Well, I was pretty excited about Adventure Con. I was saving up a little money… getting ready to travel to the wonderful city of Las Vegas to blow a wad of cash on convention tickets, gambling, booze and hooke…. erm… I mean… Hooks. For fishing… But now, it isn’t to be.
After lowering the convention tickets to $69 a person and getting hassled by the Las Vegas hotel, The Mirage, the boys putting together Adventure Con 2007, Howard Sherman and some guy named Randy (sorry… couldn’t find a last name), have decided to close down Adventure Con 2007 in Vegas and moved it to Atlantic City… In New Jersey. Which is a 6 hour plane ride away. And not a 5 hour car drive. And… do you see where I’m going with this? An Adventuress is not made out of plane tickets, nor is she made out of money. Damnit.
No more Adventure Con for the Adventuress.
Here’s a quote from the Adventure Con website:
We all know that adventure games can present us with challenges out of nowhere and puzzles that seem impossible to solve.
On that score AdventureCon is truly carrying the adventure spirit!
After the Wired.Com piece broke yesterday and the price drop to $69 just seven days ago, Randy and me took some metrics and we quickly concluded that AdventureCon in Las Vegas just wouldn’t work.
So it’s not in Las Vegas anymore. And it’s also not in August.
At least Howard can remain positive through out this entire ordeal. If it were me, I’d be blowing up stuff. Well, maybe.
So, there you have it folks. An Adventuress’ dreams dashed. I’m sure the rest of you will have fun, though. So, get your tickets, damnit!
