Sierra Entertainment has done it once again and has picked up yet another adventure game to publish! The game, called The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor will be based on the new Mummy movie coming out this summer, which is in the same series of Mummy movies from the actor Brendan Fraser.
YES! A new adventure game based off of a movie! And a pretty cool series of movies on top of that. Especially if you like mummies and archeology. Which, who doesn’t? And if you don’t, you probably aren’t nerdy like me.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing, either.
Here’s the story:
In the third-person action-adventure game The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, players will take on the roles of Rick O’Connell and his son, Alex (played by Brendan Fraser and Luke Ford, respectively, in the film). Gamers will follow the lead characters on their harrowing journey - across exotic locations from ancient Chinese catacombs to beautiful, but dangerous, Himalayan peaks - to defeat the revived servants of the Dragon Emperor (Jet Li). The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor allows players to switch seamlessly between gunplay and hand-to-hand melee attacks, and also features a fast and fluid combat system and an arsenal of weaponry that can be used to vanquish the many bone-chilling enemies players will face during their journey. Fans of the upcoming Universal Pictures film, directed by Rob Cohen and set to hit theatres this August 1, will fight their way through The Mummy universe by utilizing combat, puzzle-solving and hieroglyphic decoding gameplay elements.
The game is due to hit the shelves in August of 2008 for the Wii, PS2 and DS.

One of the best games I have played in a long time would have to be The Longest Journey and not only because of the story. The music that is in the game is rich and filled with a ton of life - basically all the stuff that makes video game music kick some major booty. So, that’s why I keep a look out for any soundtrack music from my favorite games.
Whilst browsing around the internet, I came across a forum post that mention that The Longest Journey’s website offered fans a way to download music from the game from an FTP site and thought, “well, hey. I have fans of the site who love The Longest Journey, too. I’d better tell them!”
And that’s why I’m here. Because of this FTP site with all the TLJ music. You can either download each song individually or you can download them all in one gigantic sound pack. Interested? Well, here’s the song title list:

For those of you interested in psychological thriller adventure games, then good news is to be had. Overclocked: A History of Violence is out in both US and the UK. Not, only is it out, though… but there’s even a demo for you to play, because the developer, House of Tales, loves you with all of their hearts.
That’s a lot of love, man.
In the game, you get to play six different characters who get to explore 45 locations while trying to figure out why five different men and women are losing their minds. Doesn’t that sound fun?
Here’s the story:
Set against the backdrop of a catastrophic thunderstorm raging over New York City, step into the world of Overclocked as former army psychiatrist, David McNamara. You are called to the Staten Island Forensic Hospital in New York City to consult on a case that requires your expertise in forensic psychiatry. Tasked with exploring the minds of five young men and women who were found scared, screaming, and without memory, you make alarming discoveries as you begin to cautiously probe the psyches of your young patients. Throughout the game, you will play as five other characters in this chilling interactive psycho thriller.
If you’re interested in a demo, why not step on over to Gamershell and give ‘er a download.

Alex Lucard, a guy over at Diehard Gamefan was actually lucky enough to receive an advanced demo copy of Dracula: Origin by the company that will be publishing it in the US: The Adventure Company. As with any hard core gamer who has an advanced copy of a game and a means to write about it on the internet, Alex wrote a nice little preview of the game that pretty much sums up what I thought about the game - it’s going to be FREAKING AWESOME.
In the hour and a half demo that Alex received, he got to figure out 5 to 6 different puzzles and get a feel of what we’ll find in the full version. He lets us know that the puzzles were some of the best he’s seen in an adventure game and believes that they’re probably the most innovative he’s seen.
Hmm, okay, that’s pretty cool.
He also talks about graphics and how amazing they are. He even goes as far as saying that “… honestly, this is arguably the best looking game I’ve seen this year.”
Alright, sounding even better…
Alex even says that this game might win 2008 Game of the year.
YES!
And what’s better? The game will only be a measly $19.99. Okay, I’m so sold on this game.
To read more about Alex’s preview, check it out here. We can expect to see the game out in stores on May 20th.
I can’t wait!

The ever so popular gaming site, CVG, has done it once again with an interview so gripping that you just might pass out from all the shock contained within. That’s how awesome this interview is. Seriously.
In this interview, both Emily Morganti and Dave Grossman of TellTale Games give the guys at CVG what for and explains the future of TellTale’s Wii development. Not only will we be seeing Sam and Max hit the interactive Wii screen, but we’ll be looking at a couple new titles that haven’t ever been seen before.
Future Wii games that TellTale will be developing will be created with Nintendo’s WiiWare in mind - a service much like XBox Live that Nintendo will be providing sometime in the future. This means you won’t have to leave your house to download those lovely TellTale games, with the exception of Sam and Max. Why? Because Sam and Max wasn’t configured properly to work with WiiWare and re-writting the games would be a waste of time. Why not just put all the episodes together in an awesome adventure pack and call it good? I think it’s an awesome idea!
There is also a ton of other stuff to be seen in this interview, so if you’re interested, why not just click here.

A new company based out of North Hollywood that calls themselves Bionic Games, Inc. is looking for a few good people to help them make an original adventure game for the Nintendo Wii. How original you ask? So original, that they haven’t even talked about it yet. I mean, this stuff is SUPER top secret.
But, if you have the skillz as a Lead Animator or even as just a regular old Animator, Bionic Games, Inc. is looking for a person like you.
Sound like something you might want to do? Check out their mission statement:
Bionic Games is a start up independent game developer located in the Los Angeles area. We are a small, efficient team of highly experienced people dedicated to making AAA quality games for top publishers in a fun and creative atmosphere.
Just one question, what is a AAA quality game? Are these games that you would make if you didn’t want to be in the majors? I mean, we don’t want no minor league games here, do we? Well, I guess minor league baseball is still fun to watch, so minor league games must still be fun to play.
Bionic Games has already snatched up such people as Mike Stout, formerly of Obsidian games, and Bill Black, an audio lead from Blizzard to work on these new adventure games. Let’s hear it for American made adventures!
If you’re interested an ye ol’ jobbe over at Bionic Games, take a look a their website and drop them an email!

On the website, you can see videos, wallpaper, and screenshots. Then you can check out the storyline, characters and any press releases that your little heart desires to read about!
Check out one of the videos:

The German adventure game development company, Daedalic Entertainment and Russian publishing company, Game Factory Interactive, have signed a deal together to bring three of Daedalic’s newly developed adventure games - A New Beginning, The Whispered World and Edna & Harvey: The Breakout - to Russia in a hopes to make world peace.
Seriously. These two companies are going to bring world peace to the world, or the world will end.
Okay, it won’t really end, but at least the Russians are getting some kick ass looking adventure games from Germany. And in my opinion, that’s really nice.
All three games will be released on PC in Russia, the former USSR and the Baltic Region of Europe sometime between now and next year. Yes, I know it’s a long span, but I hear it’ll be worth it. Very worth it.

Square Enix has finally decided to create something OTHER than a Final Fantasy game and for us lucky adventure gamers, it’s going to be a good ol’ point n’ click on the Nintendo DS. The game, called Nanashi no Geemu (or translated into English: “The Game With No Name”) will be one of those games that makes your skin crawl and that makes you cry like a little girl when stuff jumps out at you for no apparent reason other than to make you wet your pants. Yes, the game will be a horror game!
I guess the adventure game platform makes for a good horror game, because we’ve seen lots of adventure horror games such as Scratches, Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and The Secret of Monkey Island. What? THOSE THREE HEADED MONKEYS ARE SCARY.
No announcement has been made yet as to if or when the game will be coming from the US, but if you’re from Japan (and you’re on my site - HI!!!!), then you’ll get to see it out in stores on July 3rd.
